Looking for resources to help with minor repairs on your home?  Or looking to make your home more
energy efficient?  These housing resources may be able to help!
Block Clubs
Block clubs are low maintenance and fun ways to get to know your
neighbors and proactively make your neighborhood that ideal
place you want to live. On blocks with block clubs, neighbors have
stronger social connections, which makes living on their block
more enjoyable, fun, and safe!

Block groups consist of neighbors living in the same area who
want to take action and address their visions and concerns in an
effective way. With the help of organized block groups,
neighborhoods become safe and healthy living communities for
children, adults, and seniors. When desired, LBWN staff will meet
Block Improvement Projects
Beautify the area you live in! Block Improvement Projects are a fun way
to unite neighbors and enhance the positive identity of a block. Garden
projects, porch projects, and solar alley lighting projects are examples
of what active block groups have done before.

Neighborhoods with well kept homes, lawns, and gardens not only
increase the level of pride neighbors have for their community but it
also brings responsible homeowners into our neighborhood and deters
crime!
Organize your neighbors to do a block project today!
Greenfield Station TIN
If your home is located between 35th Street on the West and Layton Boulevard, and between Scott Street
and Mitchell Street, your home is located within the new Greenfield Station TIN!

The TIN program is through the City of Milwaukee's NIDC department and is the best home rehabilitation
resource for low-middle income families and responsible investor owners. Program guidelines differ for
owner occupant and investor owners, but with both programs property owners are eligible for up to $25,000
in forgivable and low interest loans from the City. Half of the project cost, up to $10,000 is completely
forgiven after 5 years.

with block group members to talk about any issues that have come up or any ideas, such as a spring clean
up or a block party, that have peaked members interest.
Examples of past events block groups have organized:

Block rummage sale
  • Get as many people to have rummage sales in their front
yard. Children can sell lemonade, cookies, and more!
Block open house
  • Selling your home? Have a home for sale on your block?
Go door to door to each of your neighbors and invite them
to bring any family or friends they'd like to see as their new
    neighbor!
Block clean ups
  • Invite all neighbors on the block to come out for a block
clean up. A better looking neighborhood brings about a
better image and more responsible homebuyers! Over
time, you will see less litter on your block- when people see
a nice and clean area they won't want to mess it up!
Block Parties
  • Invite all neighbors to bring a dish to pass and enjoy a
beautiful summer day with the neighbors. Set out tables for
the food and beverages. Solicit donations from local
businesses if you have time! By calling the Department of
Public Works a t286.3329 you can ask for barricades to
close the street during your block party!
